Question: Some carriers say not to wear babies under 8 pounds. Is there a weight requirement for the Baby Cuddler Frontpak. Also, at what size will my child no longer fit in the Cuddler.
Answer: My daughter wore her preemies when they were brought home from the hospital at 4½ pounds and still carries her 30 pound 3 year old comfortably. Just for fun, her 10 year-old son had a ride in her Baby Cuddler Frontpak the other day. .We recommend that you wear small babies snuggly against your chest and make sure that they don’t slide out the side of the Frontpak. If you can handle your child's weight, the Baby Cuddler Frontpak can too.
Question: What is the waist adjustment of the Baby Cuddler Frontpak?
Answer: The regular Baby Cuddler Frontpak adjusts from waist size 26” to 42”. We do have a large version available in some styles which adjusts from waist size 33” to 54”. As Baby Cuddler Frontpaks are individually made, we will happily discuss any special needs.
Question: Can I request fabric or trim different than what I see on your website?
Answer: Sure! For an additional $10.00, we will try to satisfy special order fabric/trim requests. Just email or call us with your preferences and we’ll see what we can do.
Question: Can I order a Baby Cuddler Frontpak without trim?
Answer: I personally like making Baby Cuddler Frontpaks with trim because I think it adds personality. However, I will be happy to make you a ‘trimless’ Frontpak using any of the stock fabrics I have; i.e. navy denim, black denim, stonewash black denim or taupe corduroy. Just give me two weeks notice.
Question: What about quality of workmanship?
Answer: I have been sewing for over 35 years, for my family as well as professionally for friends, family and by request. I have been making and selling Baby Cuddler Frontpaks for 25 years. My standards are high and the quality of work exceptional. I reinforce all areas where buckles or webbing are attached or where stress may occur to ensure the integrity of the Frontpak. If you are unhappy with your Baby Cuddler for any reason, you may return it for a full refund.
Question: Can I wear my baby facing out or on my back with the Baby Cuddler Frontpak?
Answer: The Baby Cuddler Frontpak was designed to wear on your front with baby facing you. Our experience has been that babies are more content facing us. We have, however, worn our babies facing out occasionally and many dedicated Baby Cuddler Frontpak wearers tell us that their babies love being worn facing outward. When baby is showing signs that he wants to turn around and has good head control, it is a good indicator that he is ready to face outward. We have found, however, that this position puts more stress on the wearer’s shoulders as baby waves arms and legs.
Again, even though the Baby Cuddler Frontpak was designed to wear baby on your front, it is possible to use as a backpack. If you do so, we recommend you have assistance. Shoulder straps may be crossed in front (not optimal for women) or fastened directly to the same side buckles, in which case, we recommend you use a sternum strap.
Question: Is the Baby Cuddler Frontpak washable?
Answer: All styles are made with 100% cotton fabric and machine washable. We do recommend that the darker fabrics be washed in cool water with like colors.
Question: Can I nurse while wearing my Baby Cuddler Frontpak?
Answer: We believe that nursing is an intimate time and best experienced in a relaxed environment. We discourage moms from nursing while on the go. However, we have nursed our babies while they are in the Cuddler Frontpak when necessary. Simply loosen one of the straps at the side of the Frontpak until baby is laying to the side you wish to nurse.
